A block design is tight if its size achieves the Fisher type lower bound. The only known nontrivial tight block designs of strength at least $3$ are Witt $4$-$(23, 7, 1)$ design and its complement. It has been proved that they are the only examples when the strength is between $3$ and $19$. In this talk, I will show that for a nontrivial tight $t$-$(v, k, \lambda)$ design, $v \ll t$ as $t$ goes to infinity.
