Second Announcement (7/13)

1. Please send your registration as soon as possible. (We will make hotel reservations for those who participate from abroad. So, please write to one of the organizers.)

3. A limited financial support for the local expenses of participants from abroad may be available. (Please write to one of the organizers as soon as possible as the fund is very limited.)

4. One of the organizers, Professor Martinet cannot attend this meeting this time. But Professor Boris Venkov and Professor Robin Chapman are among the participants from abroad. Many others are expected to participate.

First Announcement (revised version)

Following a more than ten-year's tradition of French-Japanese Combinatorics Workshops, the international workshop on Combinatorics will be held on October 5-8, 2000 at Zao, Yamagata. The conference place is at Zao Onnsenn Echo Hotel (Zao Hot Spring Echo Hotel). Please forward this announcement to anyone concerned.
This international workshop will be devoted to various aspects of combinatorics and related areas. This time, we will put an emphasis on a general kind of combinatorics, such as outlined in Conway and Sloane's book: "Sphere Packings, Lattices and Groups". However, any topic of pure and applied interest in any area of combinatorics is also welcomed. (There will be a conference on Codes, Lattices, Modular Forms and VOA just before this conference, Oct 2-4, at Yamagata University, organized by Michio Ozeki. The Yamagata Conference will be more algebraically and number theoretically intended, and our Zao conference will be more combinatorially oriented. We expect there will be some overlap among the participants of both conferences. This is one of the reasons why we specifically mentioned the Conway and Sloane's book. But we would like to emphasize that any field in combinatorics and related areas will be covered and very welcomed.)

PRE-REGISTRATION should be sent before July 15, 2000.(We will certainly accept later applications. But please register early.) (REGISTRATION FORM)

DEADLINE for submission of one page abstract is Aug 31, 2000.
