Access to Sendai
By Flight: Sendai International Airport (SDJ) has
regular international fights to many East Asian cities and domestic cities. (Sendai Airport Line directly connects to Sendai Station. 630 JPY. 17-25 minutes.)
By Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet Train): About 1 hour and 40 minutes from Tokyo Main Station.

From Sendai Station to GSIS
By Taxi: About 2,000 JPY.
By Bus: Take any of buses No. 710, 713, 715, 719 leaving from the No. 9 stop in the West Entrance Bus Pool (see Bus Guide Map). 230 JPY. About 20 minutes. See How to Ride and Use City Buses by Sendai City Transportation Bureau. It is not possible to break a 10,000 or 5,000 or 2,000 JPY bill in the bus, and it is best to have exact change ready. Get off at "Johokagakukenkyuka-mae" (which means "Front of GSIS"). Depending on the bus, it is the 10th or 11th stop.
